Dear friends of the Parish,   

             Summer delights… James has created a wonderful Summer Arts Camp for Youth 10 – 18 yrs. with trained writing, art, and theatre facilitators and parishioner volunteers will bring a week of Children’s Circle with creative storytelling, planting, music making, poetry, crafts and outdoor activities along with a yummy lunch NEXT WEEK Mon – Fri Aug 10 – 14, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. Please let us know if you can attend by registering, and do invite your neighbors, friends, and grandkids! Thanks to all who are assisting and those sending snacks – Yay Team St. Thomas!   

Another delight is the Summer Day Retreat on Saturday at Irene’s home – 25 are attending – room for more! A beautiful day is planned – prayer stations in nature and connecting in community. Register if possible.

We ask for your prayers that everyone who attends these gatherings will receive beauty, truth, and goodness to refresh and re-energize their life and faith. May we all open to new or creative ways of deepening in our spiritual lives throughout this summertime. With love, Lorie

  •        Norman Manor Prayer & Communion Service -Thursday at 1 pm. 
  • Summer Retreat Day 2 – “A Day with the Celts” Sat. Aug 8 @ Eden Dr. Chilliwack 9am-4pm.

 

Upcoming Events:

  • TUESDAYS – 1 – 2 pm Summer Sanctuary  Church is open 1 – 2 pm for prayer and reflection – Quiet & Cool. Meditation pages are offered. June – Aug.
  • Youth & Children’s Art Camp – Aug 10 – 14 9am – 12:30 pm  lunch included!
  • Parish Council Meeting – Tuesday, Aug 11 , 6:30 in the couch/youth room.

 

Ongoing Gatherings:

  • Friday Centering Prayer & Healing Eucharist are on pause till September 1.
  • Men’s Monthly Breakfast – August 15. New location: Jimmy J’s at 8:00 am! Great conversation and a short time of prayer and a Gospel reflection. For more info or to arrange rides contact Wayne Adams 1-604-845-7234.
  • Double Digits – Youth gatherings are finished for this season – watch for summer get-togethers!  See Arts Camp for youth to participate or help with the kids. Aug 10-14.
  • Bible Book Club – 3rd Wed, 7-8:30 pm. Couch Rm in Hall. Read ahead or just come!
  • Ruth & Naomi Mission – serving dinner – first Sunday of each month.
  • Norman Manor – Prayer & Communion Service – 1:00 pm First Thursday of the month.
  • Heritage Village – Prayer Service – 2:00 pm Third Wednesday of the month.
